Privacy Policy

Last updated April 21, 2026

The short version

Clinical Nutrition Report does not collect personally identifiable information from readers. We do not require accounts, do not run user logins, do not maintain a member database, and do not use third-party advertising trackers. We use lightweight, privacy-respecting server-side analytics to understand which pages are read; the analytics data is aggregated and not linked to individual visitors.

The longer version follows.

Information we do not collect

Information we do collect

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure (Amazon CloudFront and S3) records standard access log information when you request a page. Logged data includes IP address, user-agent string, request URL, request timestamp, and HTTP response status. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes (debugging, security investigation, abuse prevention) and then deleted. Server logs are not used for analytics, marketing, or profiling. They are not shared with third parties except as required by law.

Aggregated analytics

We may use a privacy-respecting analytics solution (currently evaluating options; the production choice will be a self-hosted, cookieless analytics platform) to count page views and understand which content is read. Whatever analytics we deploy will: not use cookies; not collect IP addresses in a personally-linkable form; not track users across sessions; not be shared with third parties; not be used for advertising. If we change the analytics deployment, this page will be updated and the change will appear in our update log.

Email correspondence

If you email one of the addresses on our contact page, we retain your message and our reply for editorial recordkeeping. Editorial correspondence is retained indefinitely; corrections correspondence is retained for the life of the affected piece plus seven years. We do not add email correspondents to any list, do not share email contents with third parties, and do not use email correspondence for any purpose other than the matter you raised.

Cookies

This site does not set persistent cookies. Your browser may receive transient session-level cookies from the CDN (Amazon CloudFront) for technical reasons (e.g., debugging cache behavior), but no cookie set by us is used to identify, track, or profile you.

Third-party content and embeds

We embed Google Fonts (Source Serif 4, Source Sans 3, JetBrains Mono) for typographic consistency. Loading these fonts causes your browser to make a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google's font-serving privacy practices are described at developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy; per Google, Google Fonts does not log user-identifying information.

We may link to external sites (apps we review, primary-source citations, regulatory documents). Once you click through to an external site, that site's privacy policy applies; we do not control external sites and are not responsible for their data practices.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for use by minors. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If a parent or guardian believes a child has interacted with this site in a way that resulted in our receipt of identifying information, please contact editor@clinicalnutritionreport.com and we will delete the information.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personally identifying information from readers (other than email correspondence you choose to initiate), there is generally no individual reader profile to access, correct, or delete. If you have sent us email correspondence and wish to have your message and our reply deleted, email editor@clinicalnutritionreport.com with your request and we will comply within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy statutes have additional rights under state law (right to access, right to delete, right to correct, right to portability, right to opt out of sale). We do not sell consumer data, so the opt-out is moot. Other rights can be exercised via the email above.

EU and UK residents have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR. If you reside in the EU/UK and have rights questions, contact us at the same address; we will respond consistent with applicable law.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. We use industry-standard practices for the limited operational data we hold (server logs, email correspondence). We have not experienced a security incident. If we ever do, we will notify affected parties consistent with applicable law and post a public notice.

Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed annually and updated when our data practices change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent material change. Substantive changes are also logged in our update log.
